KUCHING: Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan received a farewell courtesy visit from Sarawak Police Commissioner, CP Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, here on Friday.

The courtesy call was held ahead of Datuk Mohamad Zainal's transfer to Bukit Aman following his appointment as the new Director of Management for the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

The appointment was announced by PDRM on September 15, with Datuk Mohamad Zainal succeeding Dato Sri Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid, who has been appointed as the Deputy Inspector-General of Police.

He previously led the Sarawak Police Contingent starting September 26, 2025, after taking over duties from Dato Mancha Ata, who retired.

Throughout his tenure leading the Sarawak Police Contingent, he maintained close cooperation with the Sarawak Government in strengthening state security, addressing crime issues, and enhancing policing facilities and capabilities. — UKASnews
