Sarawak Police Commissioner Pays Courtesy Call On Datuk Amar Awang Tengah

KUCHING: Sarawak Police Commissioner, Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, paid a courtesy call on Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, at Wisma Sumber Alam here on Wednesday.

The visit is part of a series of official meetings conducted by Datuk Mohamad Zainal with the state's top leadership since assuming the post on 26 September 2025, succeeding Dato Mancha Ata who has retired.

When interviewed, he said that it is standard practice for any newly appointed officer to meet and introduce themselves to the state's highest leaders.

"Today's meeting provided an opportunity for me to meet the Sarawak Deputy Premier, who is also the Assemblyman for my area, Bukit Sari.

"Alhamdulillah, I have previously paid courtesy calls on the Governor of Sarawak, the Premier of Sarawak, as well as the other Deputy Premiers," he told the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) following the visit.

Explaining further, Datuk Mohamad Zainal noted that he also shared information regarding security aspects and the well-being of the people, while touching upon amenities and facilities for the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), particularly in Lawas, which could be further enhanced to strengthen the capabilities of the security forces in that area.

"I also shared views regarding security matters in Sarawak, including local issues in the Lawas district such as drug problems, crime, and several other matters requiring mutual attention.

"Among the topics discussed was the PDRM facilities in Lawas which could be improved, and Datuk Amar Awang Tengah can assist given that the area falls under his supervision," he added.

At the same time, he expressed his appreciation to Datuk Amar Awang Tengah for taking the time to receive the visit. - UKASnews
